Good Fryday
Dubai’s unashamedly outrageous rockers Good Fryday are all ready to inject us with another dose of pure rock n’ roll. This time though, it is a little heavier.
Vocalist Jaxx Monteath, guitarist Bellamy RIbeiro and bassist Razz joined hands with The Crow Murder’s drummer Ben Munro to put together a track to be angry to, with FEELING IT RIGHT. Head to their Myspace page now to hear what they are all about.
The Song:
The song was written and composed by Jaxx, who also co-wrote their best known track Sweet 16 with Bellamy.
Feeling it Right is a bit heavier than their usual songs and you can definately tell it is Ben behind the drums.
As usual, Jaxx voice is great, but at times feels a little forced.
It is great to see this band trying something different, and well done to them, but we feel they are better at the good old rollicking, bare-chested, hair-flicking, raunchy rock n’ roll sound they usually produce.
A great song, but not our favourite Good Fryday track. Tell us what you think.
So, who are Good Fryday? Best they tell you in their own words:
In the late 2004, Jaxx after playing for a bunch of bands that did lousy covers of Knocking on Heavens Door, and sick of the laws and stereotypical performances in the country, decided to form a band. A band that would play loud, suck a Lady’s face and make her a single Mom tunes.
A band that would do it all… but on a different Octave.
Distorted Blues riffs accompanied with high-powered live shows.
After meeting guitarist Bellamy, who brought a heavier riff element to the Bluesy Old School Rock N’ Roll style of Jaxx, songs like Sweet 16 and Rock N’ Roll in the Glory Hole were written and GOOD FRYDAY was born.
After playing and auditioning a couple of drummers they found what they were looking for in Leigh. One jam and it was decided. Sweet 16 sounded like it never sounded before. Razz was soon added to the line-up. Now Good Fryday was now on the streets and ready to hit the bars.
Leigh has now left the band and headed back to South Africa’s sunny shores, so if you reckon you can keep up with Good Fryday and bang hard all night long, drop them a line.
Dames and Dudes, Saints and Sinners, strap on some Leather, pour yourself some Bourbon and slap on some of GOOD FRYDAY’s tunes. We promise WET sheets. . .
These guys have pure Rock n’ Roll in their DNA.

We didn’t “join hands”…. there was no bodily contact what-so-ever. I don’t even shake hands with these guys, I wave to them..
